“Pension Coverage to Informal Sector Workers in Ghana: Policy Efforts, Impact, Challenges, and the Way Forward”
The Executive Director of the Africa Center for Retirement Research, Mr. Abdallah Mashud, made a presentation to the Ghana Union of Informal Sector Workers and other stakeholders at a Forum organized by the Trade Union Congress (TUC). The presentation was on the topic “Pension Coverage to Informal Sector Workers in Ghana: Policy Efforts, Impact, Challenges, and the Way Forward”
The main recommendation was that the government needs to establish a dedicated informal-sector-focused scheme under a separate legislation with different provisions and regulations.
